A big congratulations and thanks to Frank Bergh, officer of EWB-KC for his recent appearance on the Walt Bodine radio program on 12/21/2009. Frank discussed EWB-KC projects and international humanitarian development and the more ‘personal’ side of engineering. Great job Frank! The
American Council of Engineering Companies in Missouri and Kansas (ACEC-MO
and ACEC-KS) and US Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District,
working through a standing liaison committee, are organizing an
outreach program to encourage middle school students in the Kansas City School
District to consider careers in engineering and the sciences. The Kansas
City District Corps office is leading the effort and has asked the
liaison committee members, member firms, and interested parties to offer names
of people interested in taking the engineering career message into the
classroom. The initial focus will be on a limited number of Kansas City School
District middle schools but may potentially expand to other school districts if
the program is successful.
EWB-KC
members interested in participating should send your names and contact
information to Joe Marsh (

Thursday, 7/23/09. As a member of the committee, Joe will consolidate the
names and forward to the entire committee, who will then follow up directly
with additional program information.
