Engineers without Borders - Kansas City Professional Chapter is proud to announce Sandtastic 2008, a Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser Event. Say what? You're not very good at volleyball? Neither are we, but we know how to have a good time for a great cause!!! Please join us for this fun event with lots of fun prizes and great raffle basket prizes! 

Here are the basic details: 

When: Saturday July 12th, 2008 - Registration starts at 4:00 p.m., Games start at 5 p.m.

Where: Volleyball Beach in Martin City (13105 Holmes Road, Kansas City MO 64145)

Cost: $20 / Person (Includes $30 in Drink & Food Tickets per Team)

Games: We will have competitive and "just-4-fun" recreational brackets. Each team will play a minimum of 5 games, followed by a single elimination tournament.

EWB-KC was approved for a renewable energy project in Haiti in partnership with Healthy Mothers – Healthy Babies (HMHB) (http://www.hm-hb.org/), based out of Kansas City. HMHB operates Maison de Naissance (MN), a free birthing home in Haiti.

On Wednesday, June 4th a group of EWB-KC members successfully cleaned the stream area in the Nottingham South Park. The group picked up approx. 20 sacks of garbage from the area, and then treated themselves to some cold beers and dinner at a nearby Irish tavern. Thanks to all of the volunteers that came out for this event!
